Ultimate Warrior — the Animals covered Jimmy Reed’s “Bright Lights Big City” and many other black blues standards. And thank you, but we’ll decide for ourselves what to like and what to listen to….

Garret00074 February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am

ACtually a fellow named Jimmy Reed wrote this song..

Check him out…he was one of the great blues artists….

sjziro February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am

You must be talking about some other song right? Cause this is 12 bar blues all day long…

KIWIBLUES February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am

The piano player is also Chuck Berrys, which leads me to believe he plays for many a rock n roll artists.

ultimatewarrior23 February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am

This version of Bright Lights Big City is not better than Neil Youngs version, from Everybodys Rockin which is a cover of The Animals. However, I’ll still listen to it.

bluesdoor February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am

Yes it is. I was making reference to your average blues jams played all around the world where more than not it is about the big solo with as many notes as you can cram in and that was not Jimmy’s style of blues music.

Thanks for taking the time to post please join our Blues door Channel if you Dig Blues and Jim Morrison.

canonbjc2110 February 14, 2010 at 8:16 am
