GREAT Version…….grew up in Louisiana in the 60’s this was OUR version….
Chuck Blackwell and Gary Gilmore sure know how to hold that beat back until the very last moment. True pros even in their 20’s.
this is actually a william bell original
Thanks for posting, one of my old buddies was a huge Taj Mahal fan, now I know why. Beautiful song.
I love this song, I was physically ill when I saw them try to put this over on American Idol, the guy had all the soul of a 3 dollar bill.
This is not an Otis song…Otis recovered it.
Now this is the “real” version of this song! Not that American Idol pop drivel that Craig David is selling.
oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uuhhhmmmmm i loooovvveeee
oooh ! thank you Brian for this wonderful song, music and voice
Bise …..Marie de France
I saw Taj in Central Park, and considered leaving after seeing the Skatalites. Let me say that not only am I’m glad I stayed but that he was OUTSTANDING!!!
GREAT post…..danced to this in Louisiana for many years….
Taj us phenomanal, what a perfect song
I can’t believe how Taj Mahal actually out-Otis-ed the man himself! This is such an Otis Redding song and Taj actually outdid Otis on this. Can’t believe it! But what a GREAT, great song!!!
If it touched means still works!
Great song! thanks for posting
I’ve got too many holes in this here bucket of a hart.
Ah, you’re right. Kooper was playing on the album.
Thanks for posting! This is one of my most favourite songs in the world. I think Al Kooper is also featured on piano or organ.
